The Catheter Connections team identifies clinical safety gaps and develops innovative medical devices to help improve patient safety. The team is comprised of medical industry veterans and business leaders determined to educate, inform, and provide products that meet under-served safety needs in clinical settings.
John Shannon has 30+ years of pharmaceutical and healthcare experience with a diverse background in sales, global and US marketing, strategic planning and business development. Most recently, Mr. Shannon spent 3 years as Chief Commercial Officer for Durata Therapeutics. Durata Therapeutics was an innovative new pharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of differentiated therapeutic solutions to advance patient care in infectious disease and acute illnesses. Durata was acquired by Actavis for ~$675 million, December 2014. Prior to that, Mr. Shannon spent 10 years at Baxter Healthcare where he was General Manager, Global Hemophilia and Global Commercial Excellence, General Manager, US Biopharmaceuticals, Vice President Marketing US Bioscience and Vice President Marketing US Renal. During his time at Baxter he led the commercialization and drove the growth of two Baxter brands, Advate and Gammagard, both which now exceed billion + dollars each. Prior to coming to Baxter he was Vice President, Marketing for Caremark. Before that he was at Searle for 10 years where he held several positions most importantly, Executive Director, Cardiovascular Global Commercialization, responsible for the commercial development and marketing of new cardiovascular products worldwide and the Sr. Director of Cox-2 Global Commercialization, where he lead the worldwide launch and global marketing of Celebrex. In addition he spent 7 years at Bock Pharmacal Company where he held various positions including Sales Representative, Sales Trainer, Sales Operations, Marketing, Strategic Planning and Business Development. John has Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, emphasis in microbiology, from Western Illinois University.
Vicki has 30 years of experience as an attorney representing companies in the medical device and pharmaceutical fields. She has over 20 years’ experience in strategic IP planning, and 10 years working at start-up companies. Previously, Vicki served as VP of Legal, Intellectual Property and Regulatory Affairs at Cognetix and as VP Regulatory and Intellectual Property at Q Therapeutics, Inc. Prior to that Vicki was in private practice at Covington & Burling, a partner at Morrison & Foerester and Holme Roberts & Owen and of-counsel to Irell & Manella. She received a law degree from Wayne State University where she graduated summa cum laude, and a B.A. from American University.
Acting Vice President of Product Development, Co-founder
Bob has over 25 years’ experience in bringing new products to the marketplace as an engineer, manager, consultant and executive with a number of leading medical device companies, including Becton Dickinson and Sorenson Medical. Bob joined the University of Utah’s Bioengineering faculty in 2006 to expand the department’s initiatives in medical device design education and innovation. His achievements include developing numerous medical devices and directing an award winning product innovation teams. Bob received his PhD in Bioengineering from the University of Utah and his B.S. in Chemistry from Syracuse University.
Steve has more than 28 years’ of proven sales success in the healthcare industry. He spent 13 years with Endo Healthcare / American Medical Systems, where his last role was the VP of Urology Strategic Accounts. Prior to Endo, Steve has held senior sales positions with Cryogen and United States Surgical a division of Covidien. Steve brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Catheter Connections team that includes sales leadership, sales management and training, developing GPO/IDN strategies, distribution and channel strategies and business development. His experience in executing sales plans, strategies, and tactics lead to exceeding desired results. Steve received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from The University of Massachusetts.
