 – Former Durata Therapeutics and Baxter International Executive Tapped to Build
Commercial Capabilities, Expand Market Adoption of DualCap System™ –

SALT LAKE CITY – July 23, 2015 – Catheter Connections, Inc. (CCI) today announced the hiring of
John P. Shannon as the company’s chief executive officer and member of the board of directors.
Former CCI CEO Jeffery L. McCoy will continue with the company as chairman of the board of
directors.

CCI develops and commercializes innovative vascular access products designed to protect patients
from acquiring infections during intravenous (IV) infusion therapy. Its DualCap System™ provides
healthcare facilities with a cost-effective, integrated solution for IV disinfection and protection, helping
in the fight against catheter-related blood stream infections (CRBSIs) and improving patient safety.

Mr. Shannon has served as an advisor to CCI since March 2015. His responsibilities included the
development of the company’s current commercial and manufacturing plans, and supporting CCI
during its recent successful patent infringement settlement agreement with 3M.

Prior to joining CCI, Mr. Shannon served as chief commercial officer at Durata Therapeutics, a
developer of pharmaceutical solutions to advance patient care in infectious disease and acute
illnesses. The Chicago-based startup company was acquired by Actavis for more than $675 million in
November 2014.

Previously, Mr. Shannon has more than 25 years in healthcare companies, including a 10-year career
at Baxter International with increasing responsibilities, most recently as general manager of the
company’s global hemophilia franchise, and general manager of Baxter’s US Biopharm business.

“John’s role over the past few months in forging our commercial strategies and supporting our
litigation settlement with 3M was invaluable,” said CCI Chairman McCoy. “As CEO, John provides a
unique combination of expertise in general management, sales, global and US marketing, strategic
planning and business development. We are confident that John can lead CCI’s growth strategy and
expand the value we bring to our customers and the patients they serve.”

“I have developed a passion for building market-leading brands and world-class commercial teams,”
Mr. Shannon said. “The growth in market share of our DualCap system in hospitals and other
healthcare institutions is a testament to the work conducted to date by the entire CCI team. It is a
privilege for me to help expand the company’s capabilities to help make IV infusion therapy safer than
ever, and at the same time reduce our customers’ risk of financial penalties due to healthcareacquired
infections, or HAIs.”

CCI today also announced that Joseph G. Lyons has been named a member of the board of directors.
Mr. Lyons is the chief operating officer (COO) for MARCorp Financial and has been integral in the
leadership and management of CCI over the past year.
